Jose Santoro, MBA
President

Jose SantoroJosé M. Santoro holds an MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University and has over 30 years experience in the medical industry. Mr. Santoro has functioned as: Sales Director, National Sales Manager, International Sales and Marketing Manager as well as Vice President of Sales, General Manager of various large corporations as well as President of Communication and Teamwork, LLC, a consulting firm he founded in 2004. He also served in the United States Navy Reserves as the leading Petty Officer for various detachments. After 24 years he retired on January 2000. He works for NuFACTOR Inc., an FFF Enterprises Company, as Director of Managed Care, Serving the Hemophilia and Immune Deficient Community as well as providing extensive Vaccine Services Nationally. At CMSA he serves in the following Capacities:

- NYC Chapter Board Member since 2006

- National Public Policy Committee Member since 2006

- Chairs the CMSA Multi State Licensure Task Force since 2009

- Chairs the NYC Chapter CMSA Public Policy Committee established in 2008

- Winner of the First CMSA National Public Policy Award for Excellence in 2009

- Mentor to 10 Nurses from various CMSA Chapters that include, NY, NJ, CT, MD, PA, MI and MN

- Member of the Hudson Valley CMSA Chapter

- Member of the New Jersey CMSA Chapter

Mr. Santoro has built his career on the guiding principles of integrity and honesty and will provide a voice for the CMSA NYC Chapter membership and all healthcare professionals. Mr. Santoro's leadership experience will guide the NYC Chapter's Board Members to increase awareness of many issues in today's environment of healthcare reform that will affect our membership. He is looking forward to engaging all of the NYC Chapter members and non-members alike to make a difference in our community.

Doris Imperati, RN, BSN, MHSA, CCM
Vice President

Doris ImperatiDoris Imperati, RN, BSN, MHSA is a Certified Case Manager with a Masters degree in Health Service Administration from St. Joseph's College, Windham Maine. She has acquired cumulative healthcare experience in the areas of case management, critical care, nursing leadership, staff development, conference planning, clinical documentation and healthcare consulting. Her current position is as an Associate Director with Navigant Consulting, Inc.

Doris is an active supporter of CMSA on multiple levels, and is currently a member of the NYC, Hudson Valley and Long Island CMSA chapters. In the local arena, she has served as President of Hudson Valley CMSA, Chairman of the Education Committee, co-founder and Chairman of Tri-Chapter CMSA Conference Committee, and as a Board Member and Secretary For NYC CMSA prior to being elected as Vice President. On the National CMSA level, Doris has worked on the committees for Case Manager of the Year and Case Management Standards of Practice.

Catherine Morris-Zieniewicz, MS, RN, CCM
Secretary

Catherine MorrisCatherine Morris MS, RN, CCM is a Masters prepared RN, Certified in Case Management with over thirty years of healthcare experience spanning multiple aspects of the continuum, including the administrative, clinical, provider and payer arenas. Her emphasis for the last fifteen years has been on health care financial management and education. She worked in disease and case management in the insurance environment, and then moved into the acute care setting concentrating on quality and efficiency issues, denial management, revenue cycle improvement and managed care education.

Catherine has been awarded the National CMSA Case Manager of the Year designation for 2009.

Currently serving as secretary, she has been an active member of the NYC CMSA chapter for over ten years serving as treasurer, president, past-president and board member. In addition, Catherine is also a member of the American Nurses Association, New York State Nurses Association, Association of Nurse Executives, The Healthcare Financial Management Association and a volunteer for Suffolk Literacy. At present, Catherine is the Executive Director of Care Management for Stony Brook University Medical Center in Long Island, NY.

Shirley Klansky, RN
Immediate Past President

Shirley KlanskyShirley Klansky is an RN with extensive CCU and ICU clinical experience, of which more than 25 years are in utilization and case management. Shirley's is an experienced administrator in the provider and payor arenas. As Director of Health Services for large health plans she developed innovative case management programs for patients with AIDS, Asthma and COPD, which became the national model for the management of these conditions. As a consultant, Shirley developed the Denials Management Program into a national program with hospital clients across the United States. In the hospital setting Shirley's concentration is on case management, quality and efficient care, denial prevention and revenue cycle improvement. Shirley served as President of the CMSA NYC Chapter for five years. As the immediate Past President, she remains an active board member. Currently, Shirley is the Manager of the Denials and Appeals Program at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx. NY.

Laura Ostrowsky, RN, CCM
Treasurer

Laura OstrowskyLaura Ostrowsky, RN, CCM is the Director of Case Management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She holds a masters degree in Health Planning and Policy from Hunter College and has been a CMSA member for more than 5 years. Laura has over 30 years of health care experience, beginning with 9 years at Montefiore Medical Center, entering as a staff nurse with promotions to QA Coordinator and Director of UR and QA. In 1988 she went to New York Hospital where she was the Director of Patient Case Management for 8 years, and then a Project Director for the New York Presbyterian Health Care Network where she oversaw the selection, acquisition and implementation of an integrated hospital information application for UR, QA, Credentialing and Risk Management at 5 network hospitals. In 1999 she joined Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center as the Director of Case Management and Discharge Planning, where she has expanded the program to include Case Management functions in outpatient and emergency services, and created a patient advocacy program for patients seeking out-of-network cancer care at MSKCC.

Marianne Dimola
Executive Director

Marianne DimolaMarianne Dimola is currently a principal and Senior National Vice President for Pathway Medical a nationally recognized leader in the field of nurse recruitment and career development. For the past ten years she has served as the Executive Director for the New York City Chapter of CMSA, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia chapter of CMSA. In addition she has served on CMSA's national nominating committee and was a co-founder of the CMSA Tri-chapter conference. Prior to joining Pathway Medical, Ms.DiMola was a Branch Director for Bayada Nurses and a Regional Director for Nursefinders Inc.

 


Board Members

Emylou Tiukinhoy, MA, RN-BC, CCM

Emylou Tiukinhoy Emylou Tiukinhoy, MA, RN, CCMis currently a Case Manager at Memorial Sloan- Kettering Cancer Center. She has varied professional experiences including Asst. Head Nurse in a Cardiac Care Unit, Nursing Education Instructor, Public Health/Home. Health Care Nurse and Clinical Administrative Liaison Nurse. She has been a Case Manager since 1996. She is a Certified Case Manager by the Commision for Case Manager Certification and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has participated in the Role & Function study to validate the CCM certification examination. As a CMSA member since 1996, she is currently on the NYC chapter Board of Directors involved in the membership committee.

Linda Weiner, RN, BSN, CNA

Linda WeinerLinda Weiner, RN, BSN, CNA, CCM is a registered nurse with many years of experience. She has been employed as an Acute Care Case Manager for the past thirteen years at St. Vincent's Hospital Manhattan and most recently at St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn. Prior positions include Nursing Supervisor at Little Neck Hospital, Head nurse at North Shore University Hospital, and Team Leader at New York University Medical Center. She is certified as a Case Manager by The Commission for Case Manager Certification, and certified in Nursing Administration by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Case Management Society of America. She has been an active member of the NYC-CMSA chapter for the last five years and is the co-chairperson of the membership committee of the chapter.

Virginia Hoey, ACSW, CCM

Virginia Hoey Virginia Hoey,LCSW,CCM Mrs. Hoey has been a CCM since 1999, currently working at Brooklyn Hospital as a case manager/discharge planner on the Acute Rehab/Post Surgical Unit. Prior to this assignment she worked at the same hospital for 6 years as social work Discharge Planner/Case Manager for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The previous job was the Social Work Discharge Planner for the Sub-Acute unit at Sea Crest Health Care Center in Brooklyn. For the past 5 years, Mrs. Hoey has been very involved with the Board of the NYC Chapter of CMSA. She currently serves on the Public Policy Committee as well as the lead for the Registration Committee. Mrs. Hoey also serves on the Patient Services Committee of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and assist in reaching out to Community Resources. After graduating From Columbia School of Social Work over 30 years ago, she has been involved in: Foster Care, Supervision of workers and students, volunteer work on several Community boards and serving as Vice President for the Junior League of Brooklyn as well as being involved in implementing the Court Appointed Special Advocates Program which is now an integral part of the NYC Family Court. As a Board member, she will continue to advocate for more representation from Social Work Case Managers in both the public and academic sectors. Virginia Hoey, ACSW, CCM- With 25 years experience in healthcare, Virginia has been case managing since 1991 and an active CMSA member since 2000. A strong patient advocate she started a support group for oncology patients.
